Human trafficking is a crime that destroys lives, families, and communities. The Florida Legislative Working Group on Human Trafficking brings together state lawmakers, public officials, survivors, service providers, and advocates to create a coordinated, effective response to eradicate human trafficking across the state.
The Florida Legislative Working Group on Human Trafficking is a collective of passionate citizens who exists to strengthen Florida’s commitment to preventing human trafficking, protecting survivors, and prosecuting those who exploit others for profit.
Our mission is to bring together lawmakers, advocates, service providers, law enforcement, and community leaders to identify gaps in policy, elevate survivor-informed solutions, and advance legislation that reflects both the urgency and complexity of this crime.
Florida’s size, tourism economy, agricultural regions, ports, and interstate corridors make our state uniquely vulnerable—but also uniquely positioned to lead. Through coordinated action, data-driven strategy, and a firm focus on human dignity, this Working Group is dedicated to shaping laws and systems that reduce exploitation, increase accountability, and ensure every survivor has a pathway to safety, healing, and long-term stability.
Ending human trafficking in Florida requires every sector—lawmakers, agencies, advocates, and citizens—working together with compassion and resolve.
